OUTSTANDING PRESERVATION AWARD
THE ARTZ BUILDING/RUTABEGORZ
Owned by Bob Lindquist and the site of Rutabegorz Restaurant. Originally
built by Columbus Tustin’s son Sam in 1914, the building has been
carefully maintained in its original condition. It is listed on the National
Register for Historic Places.
ADAPTIVE REUSE AWARD
THE THOMPSON HOUSE
Given to Jeff and Cherie Thompson for their work on the Italianate
Victorian home they moved to Sixth Street to save it from demolition.
Many of the architectural elements have been painstakingly restored.

CHAMBERS HOUSE
When the street became commercial and was no longer practical for homes,
it became the offices for Joyce Altman Interpreters. All of the character
defining features of the Spanish Colonial Revival house were left intact.
NEIGHBORHOOD BEAUTIFICATION AWARD
THE THORMAN HOUSE
A warded to Heidi and Markus Brown, owners of the Thorman House on Main
Street. The judges congratulated the owners for their attention to detail
in restoring this house and yard.
SPECIAL
COMMENDATION FOR BEAUTIFICATION
PASADENA AVENUE WELL PROJECT
A Special Commendation for Beautification went to the City of Tustin for
the Pasadena Avenue Well Project. The city listened to the homeowners
in this fragile neighborhood impacted by the widening of the 55 Freeway,
and designed the well housing and landscaping to fit into the historic
area. A linear park with native and low-maintenance plants was provided
for local use.
